I think the following ideas should enhance the functionality of the device I introduced. Many applications like these will be developed that have never been possible.

Works in a building, airport, station, hospital, etc.

How technology support this idea?
Nokia’s “Morph” tech can do some help here.

see Semacode and QR code. As they gain popularity wireless methods will obviously become available.
Great concept! I think the technology could be applied in the GPS space. I drew up a quick sketch, take a look:

If this technology could tag particular objects–like people or vehicles–and follow their motion, one could run statistical and physical algorithms to predict their future location/destination.
It would be very interesting to study social dynamics by viewing how individuals move within a group over time.
Hi Mac
I really fell in love with your concept, I posted an article about your concept here:

Thank you, Tristan!
when can i buy 1 and how much will it be
Taylor, I wanna know that, too. Thanks for your comment.
thats for sure, brother
great, technology and nice post. what use application support?
Facinating application ideas. Great GPS and more! Very versatile.

[...] Mac from petitinvention got me thinking about this concept with his own mobile internet device. While his concept is perhaps the longer term future I do think that GPS devices could deliver something along these lines in the next few years. Now that Google, Amazon, and Microsoft have driven fleets of cars around the country taking pictures of roads and landmarks with GPS information it’s only a matter of time untill the technology catches up. The nice thing is that you don’t even need high tech image-recognition for this to work. You just need precise triangulation of your GPS position and the road edges. [...] August 12, 2008 I´m far away of beeing a chain link in the upcoming hype cycle about mobile augmented reality. But more and more mobile tracking movies on youtube for example or diverse requests from around the world might be an indicator. But still there is this thing called reality, and it is related to a thing - let´s call it hardware latency - or another: availability. If you want to implement location based services on mobile phones (touchscreens, built-in cameras, GPS, GPRS etc.) , there are still many hurdles to be taken: orientation (exact pose), computing power, content delivery (flatrates advised), markerless tracking (have fun!) or compatibility. Nevertheless I want to keep an eye on the progress for the next months. It will definitely be one next nice and maybe big thing. At least I´m gonna find more and more nice layouts and big concepts like the one from Mac Funamizu. [...]
