Mobile Hanger
I have several cloth hangers unused in my closet. I always wanted to use them like a mobile sculpture.
Just for fun again.

Desktop Calendar Wallpaper: July 2009
I love this LUNA so much. I tried to make fireworks with it.
Desktop Calendar Wallpaper: June&July 2009
Sorry for the slow update. In June we have a rainy season in Japan, so the theme is water this time.
Those who see my Twitter might have already heard, but I was really really sick for more than a week with the severest-ever pain that lasted for a few days. The doctor told me to stop working too hard and to take it easy for a while. Recently I’ve been talked to by many people for very interesting projects and I had never been so busy in my life in the last few months. (Come to think of it, I also took part in some design competitions.) But I decided to get relaxed with much fewer projects than now. (I just remember that a designer also needs some white space in her life.) So please forgive me for declining some of the offers.
Unfortunately, there were a few people I’ve contacted for one project who took advantage of my designs, which I won’t elaborate on, so it might be a good timing to slow down.
Pendurella
umbrella stand + pendulum toy
It swings your umbrella to drain off the water.
Wring the towel and dry it in the sun after using it.

Sign Language Interpreter
The camera captures the motion image of the speaker’s hand gesture. It translates it into an oral language and gives out the translated words.
(the camera capturing the image)
You can pre-choose what kind of voice you’d like it to speak in. I’ll pick up tat of George Clooney’s. 🙂

Speech Balloons for the Hearing-Impaired
Speech balloons in comic books show very well how the characters speak. If we could instantly visualize how people speak, wouldn’t it be nice for the hearing-impaired? It means they can SEE our voices.
Stressed words are rendered larger than those spoken less loudly.
Arrows of the balloons show from where it’s spoken (of course).
A scream is shown in a balloon with jags.
Imitation sounds are also rendered, but with other colors than spoken words.
When spoken to from out of the screen, it shows the words with the direction the voice is from.
A pair of glasses with the same functions could replace the device if we could figure out a good way not to block visual information.

Lupa
“Lupa” is loupe in Spanish, Czech, etc.
It’s fun to design a mobile phone based on a certain concept.

Wild Fold
With Samsung Flexible OLED, how we fold a mobile phone could be limitless especially if it could work as a touch screen.

Glassy Glassy
The previous mobile phone concept seems popular, so I made a few more designs with double glassy layers. Your fingerprints would have to be cleaned off so often, but I want to have one like these.
It was used in the TOTOTA official near future mobility life short movie!
Double Layered Transparent Screen
It would give a feeling of “depth”, I guess.

I just noticed I’ve forgotten to include one image in the post “My Dream Mac #2 (Macbook Touch Concept)”. Sorry!

Future of Mobile Search- Power of Visualization
Visual aid for any book. It means any book can be a picture book.
If it could be wirelessly in sync with your mobile phone or other mobile devices, visualized data exchange could be done like Microsoft Surface, but with this device, you wouldn’t have to stick with 2D.

Pantone Toaster?
I have absolutely no idea how this toaster works, but it would be fun if there were one which automatically stops toasting when the toast becomes a certain color (not when the set time comes).

But the concept is a bit deeper than it looks…

Real-World Folder Sorting
In the REAL world, I usually name the folder with a large title. Of course I choose a typeface for the title and a folder color.
When I have multiple compartments in the folder, put the titles on the tags.
If I have many items in one folder, I add an index on it. Yeah, usually.

Bookshelf for Super-Lazy People #2
Thought up this idea an hour ago and quickly drew it, so I’m skipping details.
It’s actually not as simple as it looks in terms of the structure I found, so many of you will notice what I omitted, but I hope you get the concept.
While the long bookshelf moves from side to side, the handle part doesn’t. Choose a small bookshelf and pull the bar down, and it comes down on the desk.
So here you can be lazy again, take and put back the books while you’re sitting at the desk.

What was this pill for again?
It would be helpful if a pill was shaped for what part of the body it’s for. Also, the container could tell more user-friendly information like how often I should take what pill for how many days, etc. (at least in Japan).

Bookshelves for Super-Lazy People (like me)
My desk is always messed with unfinished books and magazines that I think I’ll need soon again, which my wife is always complaining about.
These are for people who feel even bothered just to stand up from your chair, grab the mess and put it away.
This book hanger works as a bookmark, too. When you don’t need the books, just slide them under the desk and everything looks neat!
Slide a tab to the other end and a part of the floor flips up so that the book goes down to a selected shelf.
Throw books in the box and put it back in the bookshelf. Easy!
